4) Discover a not-so-easy-to-find ancient sarcophagus underground

The Abishemu sarcophagus is a stone coffin from the ancient city of Byblos in Lebanon. The sarcophagus was found in Tomb 1, which is thought to date back to the early 3rd millennium BC. The tomb was discovered in the early 20th century by French archaeologists, and the sarcophagus was found inside. The coffin, belonging to one of the earliest Phoenician kings of Byblos, is made from a single piece of limestone. The Abishemu sarcophagus is one of the oldest examples of Phoenician art, and it is a valuable glimpse into the beliefs and funerary practices of this ancient civilization. However, it’s easy to miss because it is still kept deep within an underground chamber. To find it, look just to the right of the amphitheater if you are facing the sea with your back to the castle. A short walk down, look for a small iron railing and a sloping path further down. Be sure to wear non-slip shoes because the slope can be damp at times.
